About us, our family business
Wurmiwelt is more than just an online shop for composting worms. It is a family project that grew together with our four children.
What began with our children's enthusiasm for nature, soil, and the fascinating world of earthworms gradually developed into our own small worm farm in Bavaria.
Today, we manage Wurmiwelt together as a family – from raising and caring for our worms to carefully preparing the orders.
🪱 Our own worm farm in Bavaria
At Wurmiwelt, we are not just simple dealers.
Our composting worms are raised in our own worm farm in Bavaria.
We monitor our populations regularly and ensure suitable conditions for their development and reproduction. This allows us to prepare our worms for shipment directly from our farm.
Our breeding stock includes, among others:
Eisenia andrei – an especially active composting worm
Eisenia fetida – the classic compost and manure worm
Eisenia hortensis (Dendrobaena) – a larger composting and fishing worm
From the worm to the cocoon to the next generation, our children experience every day how a small nature project grows into a living family business.
👨👩👧👦 A project for our whole family
Our four children are an important part of the Wurmiwelt story.
Their curiosity and enthusiasm for nature motivated us to turn our hobby into something bigger.
For us, Wurmiwelt therefore means more than just selling composting worms. We want to show how exciting natural cycles can be and how kitchen and garden waste can be turned into valuable worm humus with the help of tiny creatures.
📦 From our worm farm directly to you
When you order composting worms from Wurmiwelt, you receive worms from our family business in Bavaria.
Before shipping, the worms are carefully prepared and packed in moist substrate, suitable for their needs.
It is particularly important to us that our customers not only receive worms, but also the information they need to start successfully with their own worm box, worm composter, or compost.
